New conference: «Biodiversity and pest control with nest boxes and insect hotels»

LIFE Resilience, the project co-financed by the LIFE program of the European Union, whose main objective is the prevention of Xylella fastidiosa in high-density olive and almond farms; is organizing a new online conference under the title «Biodiversity and control of pests with nest boxes and insect hotels».

The webinar, which will be held on Thursday, May 6 at 12: 00h through the GoToWebinar platform, will focus on analyzing the commitment to the installation of nest boxes and insect hotels in growing areas, a decision that the The project considers it very successful if it wants to promote biological balance in the ecosystem and control pests in a natural way.

At LIFE Resilience we have been using these sustainable tools on our experimental farms for some time to stop and control Xylella fastidiosa bacteria, while respecting biodiversity and conserving the environment. This leads us to organize this conference, in which experts such as José Eugenio Gutiérrez, territorial delegate of SEO/BirdLife in Andalusia; Antonio Rubio, environmentalologist from La Granja de Bitxos; and Teresa Carrillo, director of the Life Resilience project, will explain the benefits of its use in crops, as well as the presentation of real practical examples.
