New conference of the Life Resilience project on sustainable agriculture

Life Resilience, the project co-financed by the LIFE program of the European Union, whose main objective is the prevention of Xylella fastidiosa in high-density olive and almond farms; celebrates a new online conference on Thursday, July 8 at 12:00, through the GoToWebinar platform.

Olive oil has undergone a great revolution in recent years, an evolution in which new technologies and cultivation techniques have allowed the sector to advance in terms of environmental sustainability. One of these available strategies is the reduction of water consumption in olive groves.

In this sense, the Life Resilience project has implemented a controlled deficit irrigation to reduce the consumption of water, energy and CO2 emissions without reducing production and obtaining a benefit in terms of olive oil quality. In addition, this strategy improves the health of crops and offers them the resilience they need to deal with Xylella fastidiosa.

This leads us to organize the conference «Sustainable agriculture: efficient use of water in olive groves» with various experts who will explain the benefits of its application in crops, as well as the exhibition of real practical examples of the Life Resilience project.
